One release, one history

The record

A RapCrunch release record is a permanent event history for one project. Announcements, titles, release windows, exact dates, delays, replacements, releases, opening results, and later milestones belong to that same record when the evidence supports them.

Views such as Drops, Changed, In Limbo, and Results are different queries over the same event data. They are not separate editorial databases.

Plain-language classifications

Release states

Announced

A credible public source establishes that a project exists.

Window

A source gives a period such as a month, season, or year, without an exact date.

Dated

A source establishes a specific scheduled release date.

Delayed

A prior date is withdrawn, missed, or replaced and the project has not released.

Dormant

A credible project remains unreleased after prolonged inactivity. The record explains the threshold used.

Unresolved

Credible evidence conflicts or does not support a single current state.

Released

The project is publicly available through an established official channel.

Opening / milestone

A sourced commercial or chart observation has been added after release.

Evidence before entry

Source policy

RapCrunch prefers direct public evidence: an artist or label announcement, an official project page, a major distribution listing, or an authoritative chart and certification source. Secondary reporting can establish context, but its claim and provenance remain visible.

A source link is evidence for a specific event, not a blanket endorsement of every statement on that page. RapCrunch summaries are concise and original.

Uncertainty stays visible

When credible sources disagree, the state is unresolved and the conflict is shown. A rumor is not promoted into a dated release. A missing date is not converted into a probability. Comparisons across different commercial measurement eras keep their methodology differences.

Append, do not conceal

Changes and corrections

When plans change, RapCrunch appends the new event. When RapCrunch itself makes an error, the correction should identify what changed while preserving enough history to understand the correction. A new fact and a correction are not the same kind of event.

Source and consistency checks are attributed to the RapCrunch Verification Desk. These aliases describe automated editorial roles; they do not represent human identities, professional credentials, legal approval, or a response commitment.

The current surface collects no accounts, predictions, personal data, or submissions. Community features described in earlier product research are not part of this build.
